An opportunity exists for a Safety Graduate to join the GCS team. The role will service multiple projects and sites and will be based at our Redcliffe office working Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Utilise attention to detail and technical writing knowledge to assist in the development of company polices and procedures;
- Conduct research on, collate information and prepare health, safety and environmental documentation as required for the submission of tenders;
- Research, analyse and report on external and internal safety metrics;
- Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of various health, safety and environmental initiatives across a range of projects at an operational level;
- Prepare communications and documentation required to demonstrate compliance with legislation and standards;
- Assist with the preparation of internal reports, alerts and other safety documentation as required by the company;
- Provide safety assistance and support to the HSEQ team, including acting as backup Advisor when required;
- Participate in incident investigations; and
- Learn and implement the requirements of the GCS safety management system.
Skills and Experience
- Completion of a relevant tertiary level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety;
- Knowledge of the Western Australian Occupational Health and Safety Legislation;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Experience in data analysis and reporting;
- Ability to function unsupervised, working to deliver to set deadlines;
- Highly advanced Microsoft suite skills;
- Operational experience in the industrial, mining or commercial sectors is desirable.
